Persephone’s Fruit Literary Journal was seeded by Lauren Theresa (she/her), a queer divergent writer, poetry editor, plant witch, and depth psychotherapist living in a NYC-ish corner of NJ with her two baby witches and vast menagerie of animals & plants.

Lauren is co-founding editor and often-missing-chaos-maker at Icebreakers Lit and former poetry acquisitions editor for Olney Magazine. She’s the author of LOST THINGS (BS Lit ’22) and ALL THE TIMES I CRAVED TACO BELL’S 7 LAYER BURRITO AS A METAPHOR FOR SOMETHING AND I’M STILL NOT SURE WHAT IT IS (Maverick Duck Press ‘23) and two books slated for 2024 release.

She can usually be found staring at a wall, falling down rabbit holes, inciting dance parties with her daughters, drafting too many books, publishing immaterial things that pour from her inner children, falling in love with the writing community, and chasing her shadows; all eternally documented at laurentheresa.com
